KOTA KINABALU: A delegation from Xiamen Star TV China paid a courtesy call on Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew recently to interview her for a documentary on Sabah to further promote the state as a tourist destination in Xiamen, a city in the Fujian Province.
Xiamen Star TV host Cheng Jun Rong, together with her assistant Zeng Xiang Ling and film crewmember Wang Xu, spent five days in Semporna and five days in the State capital.
“Semporna is beautiful…we were charmed by the scenic islands (Sipadan, Mataking, Mabul, Timba-Timba and Bum Bum) and world-renowned diving spots,” Cheng told the Minister.
Liew encouraged the team to visit Sandakan and Tawau, too, and film the tourist attractions there, such as the Lower Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary, Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, and the Tawau Hills Park, among others.
According to Cheng, it is a known fact in China that one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world can be viewed in Sabah.
The trio later visited Tanjung Aru Beach where Wang captured the golden sunset with his sophisticated camera.
