KOTA KINABALU: The Borneo International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (BICAM) is seeking the support of the Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry (KePKAS) for its BICAM Global ADR Horizons scheduled to be held at a leading hotel here in July this year.
A BICAM delegation led by its Chairman Tan Sri David Wong Dak Wah paid a courtesy call on KePKAS Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew early this week to brief her on the Centre’s second flagship event. He was accompanied by Council Members Chin Yuen Fong and Roger Chin.
Wong, who is former Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak, said Sabah is hosting this international event for the second consecutive year.
“This upcoming event is a testament to BICAM’s growth and its ongoing mission to enhance the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) landscape in the Borneo region,” he added.
Liew assured that her ministry would consider extending assistance to BICAM from the perspective of tourism promotion, given that more than 200 people from 10 countries, including eminent speakers, are expected to participate in the upcoming event.
“As a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) event, we hope BICAM Global ADR Horizons will play its part in fortifying Sabah’s position on the world tourism map,” she said.
BICAM is an alternative dispute resolution institution located at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).
Established in 2023, BICAM specialises in providing top-tier arbitration and mediation services for business conflict resolution.
