KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister II cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun received a courtesy call from a delegation of US-based multinational energy company ConocoPhillips at his office here today.
The delegation was led by ConocoPhillips Malaysia President Connor Dunn. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and to discuss current developments as well as potential strategic cooperation in the oil and gas sector, particularly involving the company’s operations and investments in Sabah.
During the meeting, Masidi was briefed on ConocoPhillips’ corporate direction and future plans, including aspects of operational safety, regulatory compliance, environmental sustainability and the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable development within the energy industry.
Masidi emphasised the importance of continued collaboration between the Sabah Government and industry players to ensure the energy sector remains a key contributor to the state’s economic growth, generates employment opportunities for locals and delivers long-term benefits to the people of Sabah.
The courtesy call reflected the strong relationship between the Sabah Government and ConocoPhillips, as well as a shared commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation towards a more competitive and sustainable energy sector.
