KOTA KINABALU: The Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry (KePKAS) is offering a reward of RM10,000 to any individual who comes forward to provide crucial information leading to the arrest, prosecution and conviction of those responsible for the senseless killing of the Borneo Pygmy Elephant in Sabah.
Its Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew appealed to eyewitnesses or information providers to step forward and assist in ongoing investigations.
“We made the decision to offer a reward of RM10,000 at a ministerial meeting on Wednesday in the wake of the discovery of another carcass of a decapitated elephant.
” This is the third shocking case since January this year. We want solid evidence of these brutal acts.
“In this respect, we seek the cooperation of the public in lodging reports with the Sabah Wildlife Department and Police authority if any individual or party has witnessed any of these incidents so that we can bring the perpetrator(s) to book,” she said.
