KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (SHAREDA) President Datuk Sr Chua Soon Ping said adaptability, sustainability and the human element are vital in navigating technological advancements and market changes.
He said building meaningful relationships and committing to continuous learning were essential keys to long-term success.
He said this while leading a delegation to the Annual Book Prize Ceremony for the Bachelor of Real Estate Management (Honours) graduates at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) here last Tuesday.
The ceremony honoured 10 outstanding graduates, celebrating their exceptional accomplishments and the promising futures they are set to embark upon in the workforce, specifically in the fields of valuation, estate agency and property management.
Chua commended the graduates for their dedication and intellectual curiosity, which contributed to their excellence.
“Today, we recognise not only your accomplishments but also the journey that has brought you to this milestone. As you embark on your professional journey, remember that you inherit a legacy of excellence and are poised to lead in an evolving industry,” he said.
To enrich the event, SHAREDA provided two guest speakers who delivered insightful talks on real estate-related topics essential for success. Chua presented a talk on “Essential Requirements for Young Developers,” highlighting key takeaways in property development with the “3 L’s: Land, Leveraging, Loan” and “3 P’s: People, Product, Price” while the other talk on “Nanocellulose Fibre Extraction from Palm Empty Fruit Brunch and its Application,” was delivered by its Vice President Raymond Xavier Chan.
Special recognition was given to TAR UMT President Prof. Dato’ Indera Ir. Dr. Lee Sze Wei, Dean and Principal Lecturer of the Built Environment Faculty Ir. Han Seng Kong, and his team of lecturers and program leaders for their pivotal role in shaping the graduates’ educational experiences.
SHAREDA also appreciated TAR UMT for their invaluable contribution to SHAREDA’s Micro-Credential Programmes (MCPs). Their dedicated lecturers have played a pivotal role in delivering the “Property Developer Course,” an online learning programme comprising five modules, which began in 2022.
The third module titled “Real Estate Development Management: Design and Development,” has recently been completed, and the results of the exam have been published.
Dr Chua thanked TAR UMT, for its continued support and commitment to advancing education in property development.
