KOTA KINABALU: Cooperation between the State and Federal Governments should go beyond human capital initiatives encompassing other socio-economic development programmes for the benefit of the people of Sabah and Sarawak, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor.
“For Sabah, this is important as we strive to build an inclusive and harmonious society anchored on our development roadmap, the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya, where we have stressed the importance of human capital and included it as one of the main thrusts of our development plan.
“We are committed to building the strengths and skillsets through the various initiatives we have implemented. Likewise, it is also anchored on the Madani principles of Sustainability, Prosperity, Innovation, Respect, Trust, Care and Compassion,” he said at the appreciation dinner of the National Human Capital Conference and Exhibition (NHCCE) 2023 – Borneo Region at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here last night.
The event was graced by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.
Hajiji said the dinner, in conjunction with the NHCCE 2023 – Borneo Region, reflected the cooperation between Sabah’s industry players and the Human Resource Development (HRD) Corp as they work together to elevate Malaysia’s human capital to the world stage.
“It is also a testament to the effective and strategic inter-government cooperation between the State and Federal Governments. I believe such efforts should not end with this conference alone. We must continue to strengthen such partnerships and develop strategic initiatives to enhance our workforce and talent development efforts,” he said.
Hajiji reiterated that the conference was an excellent platform for all relevant participants from Sabah and Sarawak to discuss their human capital challenges and opportunities meaningfully.
“Use this opportunity to learn from the experts as well on how to adopt innovative solutions, garner data-driven insights and utilise key analytics for effective decision-making,” he said.
