KOTA KINABALU: The State Government is engaging the Federal Finance Ministry (MoF) and relevant Federal agencies to consider improvements to the implementation mechanism of the targeted diesel subsidy programme in Sabah, which took effect this month.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said a follow-up meeting involving State Government agencies, MoF and the relevant Federal agencies will be held on July 17, to be chaired by the Sabah State Secretary.
“The expansion of the targeted diesel subsidy programme to Sabah, which began on July 1, was also discussed at the State Cabinet meeting on July 13,” he said in a statement today.
The Chief Minister said the State Government takes seriously the issues raised by various stakeholders.
“In this regard, MoF and the relevant government agencies have been instructed to further examine the issues and consider appropriate recommendations to address the concerns faced by those affected,” he said.
