KOTA KINABALU: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Intan, an all-ladies chapter, will hold its Golden Jubilee Celebration themed “Strengthening Youth Leadership in a Global Ecosystem” at the Pacific Sutera Hotel here on Sept 18.
A six-member organising committee delegation, led by Organising Chairperson JCI Senator Chai Moi Len, paid a courtesy call on Head of State Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu yesterday to invite him to grace the milestone celebration.
Briefing Tun Musa, Chai, who was JCI Intan president from 1982 to 1983, said the event would provide an opportunity to showcase the organisation’s legacy, honour the pioneers who laid its foundation, recognise the invaluable contributions of past presidents and members, and celebrate the long journey that has shaped JCI Intan into what it is today.
“The highlights of the celebration include the publication of a yearbook featuring the success stories of 50 presidents during their respective terms of office, an exhibition showcasing the chapter’s activities and projects, a video presentation highlighting its programmes and achievements over the past five decades, and a cake-cutting ceremony,” she said.
Also in the delegation were past presidents JCI Senator Datuk Christine Vanhouten (1979), JCI Senator Datuk Amisah Yassin (1984-1985), JCI Senator Alice Kunjan (1993-1994), JCI Senator Muriel Koh (2000) and JCI Janet Boyou (2002).
