KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) Sabah Executive Committee briefed Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor that the Sabah International Expo 2026 (SIE2026) will be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here from Sept 2 to 6.
MICCI Sabah Chairperson Datuk Susan Chang told the Chief Minister that SIE2026 was among the key initiatives planned by MICCI for this year.
The expo will feature a series of programmes and activities aimed at facilitating business networking, promoting trade and investment opportunities, encouraging industry collaboration and showcasing Sabah’s economic potential to local and international stakeholders.
Key programmes and activities under SIE2026 include the 3rd BIMP-EAGA Trade, Investment and Halal Conference, Sabah International Business Luncheon Talk 2026 (SIBLT2026) and the SIE2026 Welcome Dinner hosted by the Sabah Government.
Susan also briefed Hajiji that more than 30,000 trade visitors, delegates, participants and general visitors from 15 countries are expected to attend this year’s SIE.
The countries include Australia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Denmark, Finland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia (Peninsula), the Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Thailand and Zambia.
She said that beyond its flagship events, MICCI Sabah continued to play an active role in regional economic collaboration through the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) initiative, which represents a potential market of approximately 80 million people.
Hajiji commended MICCI Sabah for its proactive role in supporting private sector growth and fostering stronger collaboration between industry players and the Government.
