KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor has called on Muslims in the state to take the story of the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son, Prophet Ismail (AS), as a lesson to be continuously reflected upon in facing the challenges of daily life.
At the same time, he also urged the people to always preserve goodwill, remain united and avoid division and conflict.
“Aidiladha is a major Islamic celebration observed by Muslims throughout the world with deep reflection and great significance. The story of the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son, Prophet Ismail (AS), serves as a lesson that is continually embraced by all Muslims.
“It is this spirit that we must embody in facing every struggle. Sacrifice requires perseverance and it must begin with ourselves. This is what we learn from the sirah of Rasulullah S.A.W, which provides inspiration and strength in our struggle to develop our beloved state.
“Let us all take the opportunity on this blessed day to pray for the continued wellbeing and safety of the people and the state,” he said in his Aidiladha 2026/1447H message here today.
In this regard, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the Aidiladha celebration this year would serve as a turning point for Muslims to remain motivated and committed to enhancing the quality and value of sacrifice so that they will be among the blessed servants of Allah SWT.
