KOTA KINABALU: The State Government welcomes the commitment of the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) Sabah Branch in strengthening collaboration with government agencies, industries and organisations to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet set timelines and industry standards.
Technical Advisor (Energy) to the Chief Minister Datuk Dr James Lim expressed his appreciation during a courtesy visit by ACEM, led by its Branch Chairman Datuk Ir Chin Shu Ying, at the Chief Minister Office in Menara Kinabalu here, today.
The meeting served as a strategic platform for exchanging views and reinforcing cooperation in engineering and energy, with a particular focus on sustainable development in the state.
Key discussions included the vital role of consulting engineers in advancing clean energy transformation, technical collaborations to ensure state development projects adhere to the highest engineering and sustainability standards and innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing energy efficiency while integrating green technology into infrastructure planning.
Both parties agreed to further strengthen collaboration between ACEM and state government agencies, particularly in sharing technical expertise and implementing engineering solutions that align with the state’s sustainable development goals.
Additionally, efforts will be intensified to raise awareness of best practices in sustainable engineering.
Dr Lim emphasised that fostering close collaboration with ACEM will yield long-term benefits for Sabah, particularly in achieving low-carbon development goals and ensuring energy resilience.
He looks forward to continued engagement with all stakeholders to realise this shared vision.
