KOTA KINABALU: Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew (photo, second right) using a hailer to start off the 5-km Merdeka Fun Run from Anjung Selera, Tanjung Lipat to the Padang Merdeka here Saturday.
The event was part of Larian Merdeka Sabah Tanah AirKu in conjunction with Sabah Day 2024 that coincides with National Day.
About 700 people registered for the Merdeka Fun Run, according to the organisers.
“The Sabah Day Run 2024 was an effective platform to inculcate the spirit of patriotism and love of Sabah in the hearts and minds of the people,” said Liew.
“Such activity participated by members of the various communities fosters multi-racial and multi-ethnic unity,” she added.
