KOTA KINABALU: Contributions from corporate bodies continue to arrive for victims of the Kampung Bahagia fire in Sandakan, with several organisations handing over aid at the Welfare Services Department’s Sembulan Depot here todqy.
Sandakan Municipal Council President Datuk Walter Kenson received the contributions from Petronas, Sabah Electricity, BTC Group, Hasani Group of Companies and SAMIMA Books and Stationery.
The donations comprised food baskets and care packages, which will be transported by road to Sandakan for distribution to affected families.
“On behalf of the State Disaster Management Committee, I would like to express our sincere appreciation to all donors.
“This reflects the generosity and compassion of our community. Within just five days of the incident, assistance has been received from some 150 non-governmental organisations and private sector entities,” he said.
