Hajiji held discussions Yamashita and Nakasuji during the farewell visit.
KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor received a farewell courtesy call from the Head of the Consular Office of Japan for Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan, Consul-General Yamashita Yoshito at his office in Menara Kinabalu here today.
The visit marked the conclusion of Yamashita’s two-and-a-half-year tenure in Sabah, which ends in March.
He was accompanied by his successor Nakasuji Hisaki.
At the meeting, both parties discussed bilateral relations between Sabah and Japan, focusing on strategic cooperation in investment, tourism and economic development.
The Chief Minister thanked Yamashita for his role in fostering friendship and cooperation between Sabah and Japan during tenure in the state.
He also hoped that the positive relationship between Sabah and Japan would continue for mutual benefit, especially in efforts to attract more Japanese investors and tourists to Sabah.
