KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian songbird Irene Tan, together with corporate figure Dato’ Tan Seng Huat, is organising a solo singing competition in Sabah dubbed “Voice in the Shadows – Our Concert”.
The event will be held on August 16 (Preliminary Round), followed by the Finals on August 17 at the Putera Theatre Ballroom in Bukit Padang, here.
Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew is expected to grace the concert.
“I am glad that the organisers have chosen Sabah as the venue for the singing competition,” she said.
Tan, who will also be the key entertainer for the concert, said the competition is open to both men and women, aged 40 and above.
“Contestants must be Malaysian citizens and have a clean bill of health. They may select their own song in either one of three languages, namely Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien,” she said.
