Roundtable meeting between MIDE Sabah and MITI co-chaired by Phoong and Liew.
KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Finance Ministry affirmed that it has principally approved the application of POIC Lahad Datu to be declared as a Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
This was announced during the roundtable meeting co-chaired by the Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI) Liew Chin Tong and Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship (MIDE) Sabah Phoong Jin Zhe at MIDA Central, here, today.
Phoong said, “I would like to extend my gratitude towards the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for approving the application and also to the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for entrusting this important task to me.”
“I believe that following this announcement, we will bring positive impact to Sabah’s industrial development especially in the East Coast of Sabah,” he said in a statement today.
Phoong said more information will be released later on.
