KOTA KINABALU: The Basel Christian Church of Malaysia (BCCM) Donggongon will once again organise a blood donation campaign in collaboration with ITCC Shopping Mall, Penampang, and Kudat District Hospital on May 16.
The campaign will be held from 10am to 4pm at ITCC Shopping Mall, Penampang.
Organising chairman Kenny Yong Kui Kiong said the committee is targeting to collect 120 pints of blood for the Kudat District Hospital Blood Bank.
“Our success in collecting 104 pints of blood last year encouraged us to organise another blood donation drive this year.
“Actually, many more people turned up during the previous campaign, but some were unable to donate as they did not meet the required criteria. Nevertheless, we appreciate their support and interest. We hope for an even better outcome this year,” he said.
Kenny said the venue for the campaign is being sponsored by the management of ITCC Shopping Mall.
Medical officers and staff from Kudat District Hospital will also be present throughout the campaign to assist and ensure its smooth implementation.
Meanwhile, Pastor-in-Charge of BCCM Donggongon Datuk Dr Rev Voo Thien Fui urged members of the public to come forward and support the meaningful initiative.
“Donating blood is a simple act that can save lives. We encourage the public to participate and help those in need,” he said.
