KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (SHAREDA), led by its President Datuk Johnny Wong Chen Yee paid a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister II cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun here recently.
The meeting provided a positive and dynamic platform for SHAREDA to share the industry’s perspectives on Sabah’s economic development and the way forward for the property, construction and related sectors.
SHAREDA welcomed the opportunity for an open exchange of views with the Minister, particularly on the importance of maintaining a supportive investment environment, promoting sustainable growth and sustaining business and investor confidence in Sabah.
The association emphasised that development must remain versatile and forward-looking. In addition to conventional property development, industry players can participate in and support related sectors such as tourism and hospitality, education, healthcare and other complementary industries.
Such diversification can strengthen Sabah’s economic base, create employment opportunities and generate lasting value for local communities.
A healthy, well-regulated and adaptable property industry remains closely linked to wider economic activity, supporting local businesses, infrastructure development and the delivery of homes for Sabahans.
Through collaboration and openness to new opportunities, the industry can continue to contribute meaningfully to Sabah’s development aspirations.
SHAREDA also expressed its appreciation to Masidi for his willingness to engage with the private sector and listen to industry feedback.
The association said it looked forward to continued constructive engagement with the Sabah Government in advancing practical solutions and shared priorities for the benefit of Sabah’s economy and its people.
