KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Wanita delegates from across the state will gather in Kota Kinabalu on December 17 for the party’s 40th Annual Delegates Conference.
PBS Wanita Chief Datuk Malianah Ugau said the joint opening ceremony of the Youth and Wanita’s Delegates Conference will be officiated by PBS Acting President Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam at the KDCA Hongkod Koisaan Hall in Penampang.
“This year’s congress is especially meaningful as our beloved party marks a significant milestone — the 40th Congress. Our grassroots support remains strong and our struggle for Sabah’s rights continues to be relevant,” she said in a statement today.
Malianah said the Wanita’s wing has played a vital role in strengthening the party’s election machinery, contributing positively to its performance in the recent polls, where PBS secured six seats.
Among the key motions expected to spark lively debate are the call for greater representation of women in government and GLC appointments, as well as discussions surrounding Sabah’s 40% entitlement rights.
She expressed confidence that delegates will actively participate in the debates to raise issues affecting their respective communities.
The Organising Committee Publicity Chief Datin Seri Vicky Yee meanwhile said that delegates may register and collect their conference packs at the PBS Headquarters in Donggongon on 16 December, from 8am to 5pm.
The Wanita Delegates Conference will be chaired by Raihanah Rosnie Deding Abdullah, assisted by Datin Evelyn Sigar. This year’s organising chairlady is Mary Johnny.
All conference delegates are also invited to attend the PBS Malam Bersatu dinner at 6.30 pm at Hakka Hall in Likas here on the same evening.
