TAMBUNAN: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) have finalised their seat allocation, which will be announced on Nomination Day.
“Yes, we already know (the allocation), but I cannot announce it now. Just wait for Nomination Day and you will know the numbers,” said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, who is also the GRS Chairman.
He said this when asked whether GRS and PH had reached an agreement on the seat distribution for the upcoming 17th State Election.
Hajiji also said GRS would unveil its manifesto after Nomination Day.
“We will offer the best to the people of Sabah,” he said when met after visiting Sekolah Agama Negeri (SAN) Pekan Tambunan here today.
Hajiji expressed confidence that the people’s mandate would be returned to GRS–PH based on its strong five-year track record.
“We have achieved a lot through various socioeconomic programmes for the people. We have brought in high-impact investments to stimulate Sabah’s economic growth.
“We have spent more than RM1.3 billion on human capital development initiatives, and we are providing monthly assistance of RM300 to the hardcore poor listed under e-Kasih.
“We have also recorded notable successes in the oil and gas industry. The opposition may try to downplay these achievements, but I believe the people are now more mature and will appreciate our accomplishments,” he said.
Hajiji added that the upcoming State Election is expected to be more vibrant, with many political parties having announced their intention to contest.
“Let us celebrate democracy,” he said.
