Haji Hajiji Haji Noor
KOTA KINABALU: The people of Sabah must stand united behind Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor and his administration to ensure continued stability and progress after the upcoming state election, said Datuk Seri Clarence Bongkos Malakun.
The Sabah Economic Advisory Council member said Hajiji has demonstrated genuine commitment to the welfare of the people, adding that a clear mandate would allow the State Government elevate Sabah to even greater heights over the next five years.
“We are fortunate to be under the care of a leader who truly puts the people first and is constantly on the ground addressing their concerns,” he said in a statement today.
According to Malakun, the Hajiji administration has shown a commendable track record in governance and voters must not gamble with their future and that of their children by entertaining opportunists.

“Our state deserves capable and reliable leaders. We must not hand over power to those who have already squandered the mandate they once held,” he added.
He described the opposition’s attempts to regain influence as desperate, accusing them of riding a “high horse” and continuously attacking the Chief Minister and his team without offering constructive alternatives.
“I urge them to be more circumspect – their statements only invite public opprobrium. We must reject politics of slander and demand a genuine agenda for Sabah’s economic growth,” he said.
Malakun stressed that Hajiji clearly understands that stability is the foundation of development and that economic progress cannot happen without political stability — something voters have consistently shown they value.
“Recent developments are nothing more than temporary setbacks. In the end, truth will prevail over falsehood,” he said.
He also highlighted the importance of fielding “winnable” candidates, noting that an entrenched incumbent who is honest, hardworking and caring is difficult to unseat.
“I remain steadfast in my belief that the Hajiji administration is the best choice for Sabah and its people. My standing ovation goes to the Chief Minister and his team for a job well done,” said Malakun.
