KOTA KINABALU: Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew is leading a delegation from her Ministry (KePKAS) and Sabah Tourism Board (STB) on a four-day business trip to China to promote Sabah in Guangzhou and Shanghai.
She is accompanied by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Josie Lai Mei Sing.
Today, Liew met with the Guangdong China Women International Travel Service Managing Director Winnie Zhang, who has been promoting Sabah in Guangzhou for the last 30 years.
The company is one of the leading tour and travel agencies in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province.
The Minister was introduced to Zhang by STB Deputy Chief Executive Officer Tay Shu Lan.
During the meeting, Liew discussed the Sabah-Malaysia My Second Home (Sabah-MM2H) programme with Zhang and her Business Director Nicole Zhang.
The Minister encouraged the seasoned tourism player to continue showcasing Sabah’s attractions and tourism hotspots to travellers in Guangzhou.
She noted that Zhang had previously won a Sabah Tourism Award in recognition of the latter’s efforts to put the State on the China Tourism map.
Also present were Liew’s Political Secretary Vivien Lee, the Guangdong China Women International Travel Service General Manager Kathy Hu and STB Assistant Marketing Manager (North Asia), Yvonne Chin.
