KOTA KINABALU: Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew announced a donation of RM30,000 as a contribution to the Sabah Ann Koai Association’s fundraising dinner here Saturday night.
Speaking at the Association’s 30th Anniversary celebration, she said the donation was in aid of the organisation’s proposed purchase of a new clubhouse building.
Earlier, Liew, on behalf of the State Government, extended a warm welcome to the National President of the Federation of Ann Koai Association Malaysia Tan Hong Aik and his delegation from Peninsular Malaysia as well as Ann Koai guests from Singapore.
The Minister said the Sabah Ann Koai Association’s strong support for Chinese education was reflected in its previous fund-raising activities in aid of Chinese medium schools in Sabah.
“Congratulations on reaching a milestone (30th Anniversary). I have been following Ann Koai’s activities over the years. I am confident that under the new leadership of President Lim Chooi Tang, the Association will remain united and continue to grow in strength as it journeys towards the next 30 years,” Liew said.
Meanwhile, Lim expressed her appreciation to the Minister for supporting the Sabah Ann Koai Association.
