KOTA KINABALU: The University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) will hold its second convocation at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here on January 14.
Over 550 students will graduate from UCSF’s foundation, diploma and degree programmes at the ceremony.
USCF Vice Chancellor Dr Rafiq Idris said it is important to support the State’s development goal by having a population with tertiary education attainment and the right mix of knowledge and skills that are diverse based on sectoral demands.
He emphasised that UCSF is working to support the State’s development agenda in this area by providing human resources that will benefit Sabah.
“Despite being projects as a green model boutique institution, UCSF offers a wide range of diploma and degree programmes,” he said in a statement today.
The university consists of four faculties, namely management and entrepreneurship, natural science and sustainability, arts and creative media, and development and multicultural studies.
The Institute of Borneo Studies and the Centre of Languages and Generic Development are also housed at the institution.
Under its teaching and learning factory, the university runs the Program Khas Anak Negeri and the Nature Inspiration Art Gallery (NIAG).
Dr Rafiq said regardless of the degree they are pursuing, the university strives to produce students who are financially, digitally and environmentally educated.
The university aspires to support the growth of Sabah’s creative industry as well as the state’s development agenda,” Rafiq said.
