KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor received a courtesy call from the United Kingdom High Commissioner to Malaysia Ajay Sharma at his office in Menara Kinabalu here today.
The meeting marked Sharma’s first courtesy call on Hajiji since assuming his appointment as the United Kingdom High Commissioner to Malaysia and served as an opportunity for him to formally introduce himself to the Chief Minister.
Hajiji welcomed Sharma’s visit to Sabah and expressed hope that the close ties between Sabah and the United Kingdom would continue to be strengthened.
Sharma was appointed as the United Kingdom High Commissioner to Malaysia in April 2025. He has more than three decades of experience in the British diplomatic service, including serving as the British Ambassador to Qatar and holding several senior positions at the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Also present during the courtesy call were Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Lo Su Fui and Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun.
