KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor has called upon the people to continue fostering the spirit of patriotism, preserve unity and maintain
harmony among the diverse races and religions in the state.
In his Sabah Day and National Day 2025 message, the Chief Minister said the dual celebrations provide the opportunity to reflect on history, strengthen identity and nurture love for the state.
“August 31 holds significance in Sabah’s history. On this date, we celebrate the National Day and Sabah Day, two commemorations that can serve as a unifying factor for all Malaysians from diverse backgrounds.
“Indeed, this historic date is not merely occasions of remembrance and to be celebrated but also moments to deeply appreciate the sacrifices made by the nation’s freedom fighters, who fought valiantly for independence,” he said in a statement today.
Hajiji said both the National Day 2025 theme “Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni” and the Sabah Day 2025 theme “Untukmu Sabah Tanah Airku” highlight a shared message rooted in the principles of Madani and the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan.
“Let us remain vigilant against any negative elements that could undermine harmony and unity, leading to division,” he said.
