KINABATANGAN: Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew and her team from the Ministry (KePKAS) and its agency, Sabah Tourism Board (STB) went on a river cruise on the Kinabatangan River from Kampung Bilit on Sunday (photo) as a prelude to the official launch of the Elephant Food Corridor project in Kinabatangan today (Jan 20).
“The Kinabatangan River Cruise tour package continues to attract tourists from far and near. Tourists come from as far as Europe just to view and take photos of the Borneo Pygmy Elephant, the Proboscis Monkey, long-tailed Macaque and Silver Langur, among other iconic wildlife,” Liew remarked.
The Minister was accompanied by her Permanent Secretary Datuk Josie Lai and the Responsible Elephant Conservation Trust (RESPECT) Chairman Alexander Yee Kok Tsen. Also present were Deputy Permanent Secretary 1 Mary Malangking, Liew’s Political Secretary Vivien Lee and other Ministry officials.
