KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam urged the Malaysia China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Sabah Branch to fully cooperate with the State Government especially in bringing in more investors from China.
This is apart from acting as a catalyst for the betterment of all Sabahans, he added.

“I call upon not only the established senior members of the chamber but also all those newly-established wings like the Women Entrepreneurs Committee, the Youth Entrepreneurs Committee and the Next Generation Committee to step up collaboration with the State Government, especially in bringing in more investors from China to invest in Sabah,” he said.
He urged MCCC Sabah to communicate and work closely with the State Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry (MIDE) in this effort.

Speaking at the Excellence Entrepreneurs Award 2023 hosted by the MCCC Sabah Branch here tonight, Dr Joachim said Sabah is endowed with rich natural resources that have so much potential for development.
“With enterprising entrepreneurs like you, this can be taken as an opportunity, especially for investors and I can assure you that the government of the day under the most able leadership of the Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor would be 100 per cent supporting any investors.

“Not only that, we are willing to facilitate any investors willing to invest in Sabah. These and the fact that Sabah is strategically located by thriving neighbouring countries, the potential is there to make Sabah the next regional and international hub in the world,” he said.
He said Sabah has all the potential to be a major transit hub that connects many countries, especially South East Asia region, China, Japan and South Korea as well as Australia and beyond, while confident that with planned partnerships and collaboration between the State Government and MCCC, they can develop Sabah further and witness its transformation into a vibrant and bustling hub for all.
Dr Joachim, who is also the Local Government and Housing Minister congratulated all the award winners who have all set a high benchmark for subsequent recipients of the awards.
