KOTA KINABALU: Tickets for the annual dinner organised by United Malaysia, the country’s official Manchester United Supporters Club are now available for purchase.
However, members or supporters have to grab their tickets fast as they are selling like hot cakes with almost 70 per cent snapped up upon them becoming available.
United Malaysia President Batholomew Jingulam said this was most likely due to fans being eager to attend probably the biggest event in Malaysia associated with the English club where around 1,200 people are expected to be in attendance.
“It’s going to be a real spectacle because this 5th United Malaysia dinner is back after a four-year hiatus,” he said, in a statement here today.
“So, I urge our members to buy their tickets as soon as they can to avoid disappointment because they are selling out fast,” he added.
Jingulam said a host of programmes have been lined up for the event which will be held at the Hakka Grand Ballroom here on June 9.
“One of it is the anticipated raffles draw for the lucky winners to go on a free all-expense paid trip to Old Trafford, to watch our beloved team play,” he said.
He added that the event organising committee was also still deciding on whether to bring over a special guest or send more people to Manchester.
“When we held our last dinner in 2019, former United defender Ronny Johnsen was the surprise VIP guest so we’ll see how it goes this time.
“The organising committee is leaning towards sending more people to the Theatre of Dreams this time around but the matter has yet to be finalised,” Jingulam said.
