KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said the State Budget 2027, which will be tabled on Dec 4, promises to be a good one for the people of Sabah and the State’s development.
“I do not want to reveal much until we table it but I would like to stress that it will be a good budget for the people and for the development of the State.
“It will provide for solutions to the problems faced by us in Sabah, including water, electricity and roads,” he said when met at the Deepavali celebration at Magellan Sutera Resort here today.
On the celebration, Hajiji hoped Deepavali would bring light and blessings not only to the Indian community but also to all communities in Sabah.
“This is the true spirit of Malaysia that we want to see, a multiracial society where celebrations are shared by everyone.
“Let us continue to uphold this spirit of unity for our common good,” he said.
Earlier, Hajiji and his wife Datin Seri Juliah Salag officiated the cake-cutting ceremony, accompanied by Sabah Indian Chamber of Commerce (SICC) President Datuk V Jothi and other VIPs.
Hajiji later presented contributions from the SICC to the Sabah Society for the Blind and Jireh Home in Tuaran.
The Festival of Lights celebration, jointly hosted by the State Government and the SICC, was attended by more than 1,400 people.
Also present were Deputy Chief Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam and Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, State Cabinet Ministers, State Secretary Datuk Zainudin Aman, elected representatives and various community leaders.
