Tun Musa cutting his birthday cake accompanied by Toh Puan Faridah, Hajiji and other dignitaries at Padang Merdeka
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah celebrated Head of State Tun Musa Aman’s official 74th birthday with an 80-strong contingent parade at Padang Merdeka here today.
Tun Musa accompanied by his wife Toh Puan Faridah Tussin for his inaugural official Head of State birthday parade was greeted by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor and wife Datin Seri Juliah Salag upon arrival at Padang Merdeka.
Also on hand to greet them was Deputy Chief Minister II and Main Organising Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam together with State Secretary Datuk Seri Sr Safar Untong and other dignitaries.
Tun Musa accompanied by Hajiji upon arrival at Padang Merdeka.
At the start of the ceremony, Tun Musa inspected the guard of honour accompanied by 17 cannon shots fired from Signal Hill.
Later, he rode the ceremonial vehicle inspecting the 80 contingents on the field.
A cake cutting ceremony was also held during the dance performance led by the Sabah Cultural and Arts Department.
The parade was then adjourned for the investiture and state medals presentation
ceremony at Istana Seri Kinabalu.
