KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor has called for more education, entrepreneurship and leadership programmes to further empower women in Sabah.
He commended the Sabah Women’s Advisory Council (MPWS) for its collaboration with various agencies, particularly the Sabah Women’s Affairs Department (JHEWA), in advancing women’s empowerment initiatives.
“I want to see more women actively involved in economic, educational and leadership fields through programmes initiated by MPWS,” he said during a meeting with an MPWS delegation led by its Chairperson Datuk Dr Rosmawati Lasuki at Menara Kinabalu here today.
During the meeting, Rosmawati briefed the Chief Minister on MPWS programmes, which focus on education, entrepreneurship and leadership development.
Among the initiatives highlighted was the Global Women @ Sabah (Glow@Sabah) leadership programme, aimed at identifying capable women leaders and nurturing them to reach their full potential.
She also updated Hajiji on the upcoming State Women’s Day celebration, which will be hosted by MPWS on September 9 this year.
Also present were Deputy Chairperson Datuk Fauziah Abu Bakar Titingan, Secretary and JHEWA Director Haslina Ismail, as well as MPWS committee members.
