KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said the State Government is initiating a comprehensive restructuring of its government-linked companies (GLCs), involving chairpersons and board members.
He said the move is driven by administrative needs to strengthen corporate governance and accountability and to inject new leadership to boost performance and drive the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 goals.
“The goal is to transform GLCs into effective and trustworthy economic engines through competent management to generate greater value for the people and the state,” said the Chief Minister.
Hajiji stressed the need for dynamic, professional and results-driven leadership teams to navigate a new era characterised by strategic investments, digitalisation, new energy and social development.
“We acknowledge the contributions of past leadership, but a revamp is necessary for effective transformation and continuity. Our sole objective is to ensure a stable, prosperous and secure future for Sabah and the people, in line with the aspirations of Hala Tuju SMJ 2.0,” he said.
