YKS also provided additional aid in cash and kind to 20 boarders and 100 pupils affected by the blaze.
Hajiji said it was time for SAN Pekan Tambunan, which was established in the 1970s, to have a permanent building.
“At the request of the school, I propose that it be rebuilt. The present State Government will approve the necessary funding, and I am here today to see how we can help,” he said.
Two buildings, including classrooms and a dormitory, were destroyed, while the teachers’ quarters were also damaged in the October 12 evening fire.
Also present were Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Ariffin Mohd Arif, District Officer Sobitul Makajil, State Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAINS) Director Jumain Abdul Ghani and YKS Director Datuk Diyanah Abdullah.
