KOTA KINABALU: United Malaysia, the country’s official Manchester United fan club, has installed a new committee following its Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held yesterday.
Held at a hotel in Penampang near here, the EGM also saw Batholomew Jingulam returned unopposed as President for his fifth consecutive term, reaffirming the trust and confidence members have in his leadership.
The EGM also saw the election of fresh faces and returning members to the club’s committee.
Among those elected were Bryan Faurillo as Deputy President while nine people were elected as committee members namely Adrian Sibangun, Anita Dingkawan, Dora Limus, Daniel Roman, Durie Rainer Fong, Darrell Ho, Daniel Liew, Pauline Lee and Tony Henry Lojungin.
Lindsay Michael was re-appointed as the secretary and her assistant is Michelle Faurillo while Fynn Floyd Wong was named as the treasurer with Jillianne Flair Bonnie as his assistant.
The president also appointed Simon Peter and Fazrilan Rusulan as special officers.
In her report earlier, the club secretary highlighted the many successful activities organised over the past year, including the United Malaysia Football Carnival, Annual Dinner, and members’ trips to Old Trafford, Manchester United’s homeground.
Jingulam expressed his gratitude to the outgoing committee for their dedication and welcomed the new team on board.
“Thank you to all who served tirelessly and helped us grow as a family in United Malaysia.
“To the new committee—congratulations. Let’s work together with unity and passion to bring the club to greater heights and achieve even more accolades,” he said.
