KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) will commemorate its 40th anniversary with a modest yet meaningful celebration at Hakka Hall, here, on March 5.
The event will gather some 1,000 division leaders, including representatives from the Women and Youth wings.
A short video reflecting on the Spirit of 1985 will be screened, highlighting the party’s ongoing mission and vision for Sabah and its people.
Among the key highlights is the unveiling of the PBS 40th anniversary logo, along with the presentation of a prize to the logo’s creator.
PBS Secretary-General Datuk Julita Majungki, who is the organising chairwoman, said several activities, including internal golf, bowling and football matches, will be held in the lead-up to the dinner.
“PBS President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili, Founder and Premier Advisor Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan and Acting President Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam will grace the event,” she said.
Julita said in his speech, Dr Joachim, who also serves as PBS’ Deputy President, is expected to outline the party’s future direction while reminding members of their role in maintaining PBS as a formidable political force.
Dr Joachim is also expected to reaffirm PBS’ commitment to the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition, where it stands as the second-largest component party.
