KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor reiterated the State Government’s commitment to support the growth of entrepreneurship in Sabah.
“Our state is full of potential, and we are eager to collaborate with like-minded organisations such as the Malaysia Entrepreneurs’ Development Association (PUMM) to further develop a vibrant, sustainable and inclusive economy,” he said at the Malaysia Role Model Enterprise Awards 2024 and PUMM installation and gala dinner at SICC last night. His speech was read by the Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe.
“I believe entrepreneurship is more than just building businesses, it is about creating opportunities, uplifting communities and driving sustainable economic growth,” he said.
The award gala dinner’s theme of “Role Model Recognition” is of great significance as it highlights the importance of exemplary leadership and the power of setting a positive example for the next generation of entrepreneurs, he said.
“As we look to the future, I am confident that your Association will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping Malaysia’s entrepreneurial landscape. The challenges of the 21st century, from technological advancements to global competition, present both opportunities and obstacles.
“However, with the leadership of PUMM and the entrepreneurial spirit of its members, I have no doubt that we will rise to these challenges and seize the opportunities before us,” he said.
