KOTA KINABALU: The Works Ministry via the Sabah Logistics Council (SLC) has recently held a productive meeting with Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd (SPSB) and key industry players, including shipping liners here to discuss and find solutions to the ongoing congestion at Sapangar Bay Container Port (SBCP).
Deputy Chief Minister III cum Works Minister Datuk Ir. Shahelmey Yahya said SLC was pleased to receive positive news and constructive feedback from SPSB and the shipping liners.
“The discussions highlighted a shared commitment to collaboratively address the congestion issues and improve the efficiency of port operations for the benefit of all stakeholders,” he said in a statement today.
Shahelmey said SLC strongly believes that through coordinated efforts and active involvement from all parties, they can alleviate the current challenges and enhance the overall logistics and supply chain environment in Sabah.
“We urge all industry players to work closely with the SLC and ensure that any issues or concerns are promptly relayed to the Council for swift resolution.
“We are confident that by fostering a spirit of collaboration and open communication, we can overcome the current obstacles and pave the way for a more efficient and effective port operation, ultimately contributing to the economic growth and stability of Sabah.
“By being the main logistics and transportation platform for all stakeholders, SLC shall aggressively play its role for the betterment of the sector,” he said.
