BEAUFORT: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) remains steadfast in its commitment to being a fair and just government, a principle it aims to uphold if granted a fresh mandate by the people on November 29, said Chief Minister and GRS Chairman Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor.
He said GRS has a clear agenda to realise this commitment, as outlined in its election manifesto, which focuses on four key pillars: Sabah First, Sabah Forward, Sabah Prosper and Sabah United.
“GRS has demonstrated its ability to govern the State effectively over the past five years. We have made significant progress in advancing Sabah through various initiatives.
“We have also assisted our people across Sabah, regardless of race or religion. GRS is genuinely committed to the development of Sabah.
“We are seeking a fresh mandate to continue implementing our plans,” Hajiji said during a meet-the-people session at Dataran Bagandang here today.

Present at the event were GRS candidates for Klias Datuk Isnin Aliasnih; Datuk Ruslan Muharam (Lumadan); Sipitang MP Datuk Matbali Musa; and GRS Wanita Chief Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun.
The Chief Minister said the GRS-led State Government has achieved notable success, particularly in revitalising Sabah’s economy following the Covid-19 pandemic, through the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) initiative.
For example, he said residents of Sipitang and surrounding areas, such as Lumadan and Klias, are set to benefit from the economic spillover effects of the Sabah Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP) development.
“Agreements have been signed with numerous companies to establish their operations and SOGIP is now fully occupied,” he added.
Hajiji emphasised that while the GRS-led State Government focuses on mega development projects for Sabah, it has not overlooked the welfare of the people.
“When we return to government on November 29, we will consider extending assistance to all eligible seniors aged 60 and above. This is our aspiration, we want to help the people,” he said.
He added that over the past five years, the number of welfare recipients has increased from 30,000 to 70,000, with individuals receiving aid of up to RM300 monthly.
Hajiji also said that starting this year, approximately 100,000 heads of households listed in the e-Kasih programme are receiving RM300 each month.
He assured that GRS will continue these initiatives while introducing new ones for the welfare of the people and the progress of Sabah once it assumes government again.
He also urged the GRS election machinery to work diligently to secure the victory of their respective candidates.
