KOTA KINABALU: The countdown has begun for the return of BIGSABAH Sale, which will be held from 31 October to 2 November 2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).
Now entering its third year, BIGSABAH Sale has evolved from a local fair into a dynamic regional platform, linking Sabah with the wider ASEAN and Asia Pacific regions.
This year’s edition will be the largest to date, featuring more than 600 exhibitors across 23,000 square meters – the biggest event ever hosted at SICC. With participation from nine countries, organisers are targeting over 50,000 visitors across the three-day fair, but remain confident attendance will surpass expectations given strong support from strategic partners and the variety of activities lined up.
Carrying the theme “Across Markets, Beyond Borders”, the event aims to position Sabah as an international gateway to the East ASEAN region.
Among the highlights this year are:
* BIGSABAH Sale – Gourmet, Décor & Home Living (Level 2) and Fashion & Lifestyle (Level 4): Two exhibition floors will be turned into vibrant marketplaces. Level 2 will showcase culinary delights, home essentials, décor, and interior solutions, while Level 4 will highlight fashion, beauty, lifestyle products, and retail by local and international brands.
* BIGSABAH Trade Connect: A dedicated networking platform designed to connect local and international SMEs with buyers, importers, and distributors through curated B2B meetings and trade sessions.
* BIGSABAH Tamu: Inspired by Sabah’s traditional marketplace, this section will feature local produce, handicrafts, and delicacies by rural entrepreneurs, artisans, and farmers, bridging grassroots businesses with wider consumer markets.
* Pesta Makan Buah-Buahan Sabah: Organised in collaboration with FAMA, the festival will highlight Sabah’s rich agricultural diversity with an abundant fruit showcase, from seasonal favourites to rare indigenous varieties.
* Sabah Agro-Fisheries Forum: A professional platform bringing together stakeholders from agriculture and fisheries across Malaysia and ASEAN to discuss opportunities, challenges, sustainability, and food security.
* Women in Business & Style: A segment celebrating women entrepreneurs and creative leaders through exhibitions, fashion showcases, and dialogue sessions.
This year’s edition will also see greater international participation, including from Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, and India. These countries will be represented both at the Trade Connect platform and the Agro-Fisheries Forum, strengthening the fair’s regional significance.
