KOTA KINABALU: Music knows no age limits as the stage belongs to anyone who dares to dream, said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew.
She advanced this view when officiating at the National Singing Competition & Charity Gala with the theme “Voices in the Shadows – Our Concert” at Putera Theatre Ballroom, here, on Sunday night.
“Bravo, participants above 40 take to the stage to showcase their talents, infusing people with hope and inspiring them to pursue their dreams,” said Liew.
The Minister commended the Organising Chairperson Datuk Eliza Goh and her committee for opening the windows of opportunity to music enthusiasts from the Peninsula, Sarawak and Sabah to participate in the event.
“Music transcends regional, ethnic and linguistic boundaries, fostering deeper understanding and stronger trust among us. Unity and inclusiveness have always been the solid foundation of our diverse society’s continued progress,” she said.
From another perspective, Liew stressed that the organisers have used music as a bridge to support the younger generation with access to learning and growth opportunities.
“The potential of the younger generation must be nurtured through our actions. This charitable initiative is a collective effort made possible by the generosity of many magnanimous personalities from East and West Malaysia alike,” she noted.
The Minister took the opportunity to present a mock cheque for RM10,000, a contribution from her Ministry, to the Kian Kok Middle School Alumni Association in aid of needy students.
