KOTA KINABALU: The spirit of Ramadan shone brightly as the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu Pearl (RCKK Pearl) hosted a heartwarming buka puasa event for 17 children from Rumah Amal Kasih orphanage.
Held at the grand Ramadan Buffet of the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), the evening was a celebration of generosity, togetherness, and joy.
Leading the event was RCKK Pearl President Chendramata Sinteh, with the support of SICC CEO Datuk Rosmawati Lasuki, who graciously co-hosted the gathering. Their combined efforts ensured the children experienced a memorable night filled with warmth and festive cheer.
RCKK Pearl has long championed the tradition of sharing festive joy with underprivileged children and this year, their kindness extended to Rumah Amal Kasih.
The evening was made possible through the dedication of RCKK Pearl’s Community Service Director Datin Jeanette Tambakau, alongside Club President Chendramata Sinteh and Project REAL Chair Tulip Noorazyze, who played key roles in organising the event.
Accompanied by their Co-Founder and Principal Jamrie Saparih and two teachers, the children were welcomed into an enchanting atmosphere. The beautifully decorated SICC hall, adorned with Islamic themes, set the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable iftar.
The highlight of the evening was an extraordinary buffet featuring an impressive 850 dishes, leaving the children in awe of the abundant feast before them.
This event was a powerful testament to the importance of giving back to the community. Through moments of joy, care and generosity, RCKK Pearl hopes to inspire these young hearts to believe in a future filled with kindness and hope.
