KOTA KINABALU: The final release of the State Lands and Surveys Department’s SMART Geo Sabah for the general public is scheduled for mid-2025.
In a press release today, the Department said the beta version of SMART Geo Sabah is currently available within the Department for pre-release testing and fine-tuning.
SMART Geo Sabah integrates Generative-AI with advanced geospatial technologies to allow users to find and locate land information through conversational interactions in Malay, English or Chinese.
This makes Sabah the first State Government in Malaysia to harness such advanced technology, setting a new standard for digital innovation in public services.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor officiated the soft launch of this technology on July 30, 2024
With SMART Geo Sabah, the goal is to consolidate all land information, intelligence and insights into a single, accessible platform.
The integration of Generative-AI with geospatial technology in SMART Geo Sabah is a groundbreaking achievement. This initiative is designed to simplify the process for everyone—whether it’s government agencies, businesses, or people in the street—to find and utilise the data they need more efficiently.
SMART Geo Sabah is poised to become an indispensable tool that bridges the gap between technology and land management, fostering a more connected and informed community in Sabah.
The development of SMART Geo Sabah is a testament to the Department’s commitment to innovation and excellence.
