PENAMPANG: Api-Api Assemblywoman Datuk Christina Liew and Luyang Assemblyman Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe contributed 1,000 food baskets for the flood victims in the district today.
They jointly handed over the foodstuff to Penampang District Officer Francis Chong, witnessed by Penampang District Police Chief Superintendent Sammy Newton and other government officials, at the Sabah Cultural Centre, Donggongon.
Liew’s contribution was made through the Api-Api Constituency People’s Service Centre.

Since last Sunday, the Sabah Cultural Centre has accommodated some 285 evacuees comprising 24 senior citizens, four persons with disabilities (OKU), 71 children, and seven babies, among others.
Briefing the elected representatives on the situation, Chong said the evacuees were well taken care of, and some of the families had returned home.
“Fifteen villages in the district were affected by the flash floods. Arrangements are being made to transport food supplies to other villagers in need,” he added.
