Phoong witnessed the signing of the KKIP Land Handover between Life Water Industries Sdn. Bhd and Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP)
KOTA KINABALU: The Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe has witnessed the signing of the KKIP Land Handover between Life Water Industries Sdn Bhd, represented by its Managing Director, Liaw Hen Kong, and Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), represented by its Group Senior Vice President Cecilia at KKIP here today.
“Today marks a significant milestone for Life Water Industries, one of our esteemed local manufacturers, as they take responsibility for Lot 815, IZ8. This ceremony represents a new beginning for our local industries as they continue to develop and expand their production lines in their new factory at KKIP.
“I am eager to see Life Water Industries transform this 8.16-acre land into a state-of-the-art bottling plant comprising of a beverage factory, warehousing and office,” said Phoong.
With the acquisition of the new land, KKIP will witness a substantial domestic direct investment of RM70 million by Life Water Industries.
The Minister said this investment is instrumental in establishing their production line, which is expected to create approximately 200 job opportunities for the local community.
“This development not only strengthens the local economy but also demonstrates our commitment to fostering local talent and providing sustainable employment.
“While actively promoting foreign direct investment (FDI), the Government must also support the local manufacturing industry, enabling it to develop and progress alongside the state’s economic growth.
“The investment by Life Water Industries is a testament to the potential of our local industries to contribute significantly to the state’s economic landscape,” said Phoong.
He also visited the existing factory of Life Water Industries. During the tour, Liaw Hen Kong, who escorted the Minister, provided an in-depth look into their business operations, which include a fully automated bottling line. This visit highlighted the innovative approaches and commitment to quality that define Life Water Industries.
Phoong said the State Government remains steadfast in its dedication to creating a conducive environment for local businesses to thrive.
The collaboration between KKIP and Life Water Industries exemplifies the synergies between the public and private sectors in driving economic development.

The new bottling plant is expected to incorporate cutting-edge technology and environmentally sustainable practices, setting a benchmark for future industrial developments in Sabah.
