KOTA KINABALU: Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC) in a join effort with Unit Pemimpin Pembangunan Masyarakat (UPPM) launched its newest initiative, the Iftar Charity Programme, dedicated to supporting the needy and less fortunate and orphanages throughout Sabah during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Iftar Charity Programme aims to extend a helping hand to those in need by providing meals for breaking the fast to less fortunate families and orphaned children across Sabah.
This compassionate initiative embodies KTC and UPPM’s unwavering commitment to serving the community and uplifting the lives of the underprivileged.
Through the Iftar Break Fast Charity Programme, KTC and UPPM will organise iftar gatherings at 25 locations across Sabah, ensuring that families facing economic hardship receive essential support during Ramadan.
Additionally, orphanages will be visited, where children will have the opportunity to choose their favorite baju raya (traditional attire for Eid) to children in orphanages at Servay Supermarket. This reflects the shared commitment of both the corporate and State Government to serving the community and spreading happiness during Ramadan.
This initiative underscores UPPM’s steadfast commitment to promoting inclusivity, understanding and solidarity among all residents of Sabah.
“In the spirit of Ramadan, we are thrilled to launch the Iftar Break Fast Programme and Children Shopping Raya, an initiative that embodies the spirit of compassion, generosity, and solidarity,” said KTC Executive Directir Datuk Dexter Lau.
KTC Managing Director Datuk Lau Kok Sing said: “As we observe the holy month of Ramadan, let us come together as one community to celebrate our shared values and promote harmony among all residents of Sabah and bring happiness to orphanage children across Sabah.”
UPPM Director Datuk Awang Kadin Tang invited all able individuals, businesses and organisations to contribute to the Iftar Charity Programme through donations of funds, food items or volunteer assistance.
“Together, we can make a positive impact and spread hope and kindness to those in need,” he said.
