KOTA KINABALU: A fundraising golf tournament in aid of ‘Malim Gunung’ (mountain guide) and potter will take place at the Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club here on Dec 3.
The Malim Gunung Charity Golf Tournament will be co-organised by Sri Pelancongan Sabah (SPS) Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Sabah Tourism Board, and Likas Golf Academy.
SPS General Manager Zachary Mobijohn said the objective of organising the tournament is to help the Malim Gunung who have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The charitable proceeds will be sent to Persatuan Malim Gunung Kinabalu Sabah and Persatuan Potter Gunung Kinabalu, Sabah,” he said in a statement.
Five categories will be contested namely Gross (men), Medal A (men), Medal B (men), Medal C (men) and Nett (women).
“Tee off is at 7am,” said Zachary.
He said the top five winners in each category will receive RM800, RM700, RM600, RM500 and RM400 respectively.
Novelty prizes such as Longest Drive, Nearest-to-Pin and Nearest-to-the-Line are up for grabs.
“There will also be two Hole-In-One grand prizes namely a Proton X50 and a Proton Saga sponsored by Fook Loi and WSG Group,” said Zachary while thanking all the sponsors of the tournament.
He said the participating golfers also stand to win three grand lucky draw prizes (Samsung 65″, Hisense 56″ and Sharpe 42″) in addition to 20 other lucky draw prizes.
