KOTA KINABALU: Tourism Malaysia (TM) Sabah in collaboration with the Federation of Sabah Rural Tourism Associations (FeRTAS) has published a directory book to promote community-based tourism involving eight rural districts.
The special edition of the directory showcases the diversity of each tourism products in Tambunan, Keningau, Nabawan, Kuala Penyu, Papar, Kota Belud, Beluran and Telupid.
FeRTAS President, Walter Kandayon said the publication of the book is also part of its initiative to support the recovery efforts to revive the tourism sector badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Rural tourism products are now gaining ground among tourists who are interested in learning about our culture, traditions, food, handicrafts and way of life of the local community,” said Walter, who is also the President of the Kadamaian Tourism Association (KATA).
Meanwhile, TM Sabah Director, Mohd Faharuddin Hatmin said the directory can be obtained by scanning the QR code on Tourism Malaysia Sabah’s Facebook page or contact the Sabah Tourism Information Centre (TIC) Supervisory Office at 088-211732 / 088-413359.
“The people can also browse the website www.malaysia.travel to get travel package offers from all over Malaysia as well as follow the TM Sabah page on Facebook to find out any latest developments related to promotional activities in Sabah,” he said.
