KOTA KINABALU: A total of 1,126 villagers from eight villages have joined the vaccination outreach programme held at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Talungan, Telipok, near here.
The villagers were from Kg Bunsut, Kg Talungan, Kg Natai, Kg Lawa Mondou, Kg Tombongon, Kg Seri Melidan, Kg Tampulan and Kg Kebayau.
The programme started on July 23.
The team from Sabah Health Department led by Public Health Specialist, Dr Suhaila Osman, started the vaccination at as early as 7am and worked till late evening and stayed overnight in SK Talungan to continue the next day to finish vaccinating the villagers.
There was also a mobile team went house to house to ensure the bed-ridden and elderly patients to be vaccinated as well in.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Datuk Yakub Khan, who is also Karambunai State Assemblyman, together Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr Roland Chia Ming Shen, Inanam Community Development Leader (PPM), Datuk William Majimbon and Karambunai PPM, Matlan Haji Taman, also visited the visited the vaccination centre to give moral support to the villagers and the State Health Department team.
