PENAMPANG: The Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) 15th Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) will be postponed until further notice.
Its Secretary General, Suman Yasambun, said the conference which is held once in every three years is supposed to be held on November 6 and 7 this year at the Hongod Koisaan Hall here but has to be postponed due to the Movement Control Order (MCO).
“The TDC is compulsory but the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (ROS) has instructed us to postpone it until further notice. The order came into effect on June 1 so I have issued notice to KDCA branches that are eligible for conference to postpone their respective meetings.
“We will set new dates for the meetings and the conference as soon as we are allowed to by the ROS,” he said in a statement here.
The last TDC was held in 2018 which saw the election of the current central committee members comprising among others deputy presidents, Datuk Seri Dr Clarence Bongkos Malakun and Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili, while the president, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan’s post was not contested.
Among those elected in the previous conference were vice presidents, John Chryso Masabal, Sebastian Dirih Anjim, James Mudezaim Muyau, Datuk Dr Dayu Sansalu, Datuk Robert Tawik, and Datuk Daniel Kinsik.
Apart from elected members, the KDCA central committee also comprises appointed members including deputy presidents, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, Datuk Dr Othman Minudin, and Datuk Ir John Anthony.
Appointed vice presidents are Datuk Jahid Jahim, Datuk Anita Baranting, Datuk Claudius Roman, and Datuk Michael S Malanjun.
